National Great Rivers Museum

Description

Opened in October 2003, this state-of-the-art museum is dedicated to telling the story of life on the Mighty Mississippi River and how it has shaped our culture, history, economy, ecology and people of the region. The museum has more than 20 interactive displays focusing on the cycles of the river, nature, barge traffic, water consumption and much more. Visitors may also choose to watch the 30-minute film, "Power of the River." The museum is located at the Melvin Price Locks & Dam, adjacent to local bike trails.
