What is Geocaching?

Geocaching is the real-world treasure hunt that's happening right now, all around you. Geocachers use their phones with the Geocaching app or a GPS to find hidden containers called geocaches. There are over 2 million geocaches in more than 180 countries worldwide, each of them hidden by one of the more than 6 million people in the geocaching community. All you need to start geocaching is a phone with the Geocaching app or a GPS and a free Geocaching account. You can learn more at Geocaching.com or by watching the video.

The town that wins "Best in Geocaching" will win one free GeoTour.

A "GeoTour" is a tailored series of geocaches hidden at a destination's points of interest. The geocaches will help you learn about local history, reveal hidden vantage points, bring you to beautiful areas, or show you a city's secret hotspots. GeoTours around the globe are hosted by parks, visitor bureaus or local communities. Explore the GeoTours page to find out if there are any GeoTours near you or to plan your next trip.
