Such a fun and unexpected stop on a trip through Missouri. The climb is manageable and fun for even the littlest family members. Make sure to take a picture at frog rock. It'll definitely be one for the fridge!
I grew up at Ft. Leonard Wood and remember when that was just a huge rock wall, then when they blasted out the hill, that rock remained. Someone painted it like a frog and it has evolved since. Cool Rock. Great town.
This frog is a great attraction for both locals and tourists. It's a lot of fun to climb up on it and take your picture. It shows that life on the road can be humorous and exciting. Make sure you come to frog days in Waynesville to have a great time celebrating our beautiful frog that emerged where no one expected.
Unique formation along a timeless roadway.
I am voting on this because I live in Waynesville, MO and witnessed this at its inception. My children were in elementary school at that time and we would drive past that frog twice a day taking them to school. Every time we pass by the frog I get them to giggle by hollering "Watch out, that frog is going to jump over us to cross the road!" and then I ask them if they saw the frog jump? I tell them it did! That frog is fast and quickly and jumped over us and right back into place. Gets a giggle every time (or an eyeroll). Now it is just my happy memories of this interaction now that they are all grown up. I hope to continue this with my grandchildren when i get some;-)
