Near the headquarters of Lacassine National Wildlife Refuge there is a wildlife viewing tower, hiking trail, and bank fishing opportunities. While traveling between refuge headquarters and the pool, watch for large numbers of shorebirds and waterfowl feeding in the surrounding rice fields.
