Description

This is the home of the cousins of Lucy Maude Montgomery, author of the Anne of Green Gables books. The house was built in 1872 and is filled with original furnishings; the famous author was married here in 1911. The museum holds 13 first-edition books autographed by the author, as well as handiwork and china, and other artifacts of her life; tea room, craft shop, and antique barn are nearby. You can also walk to the Lake of Shining Waters; the grounds are filled with apple trees and flowers. Matthew's wagon rides are also popular.
