Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum

Description

This living museum of natural history contains plants and animals indigenous to the Sonora desert of Arizona and Mexico, and animals native to the Gulf of California. The collection includes Gila monsters, rattlesnakes, scorpions, and much more. Otters and beavers can be observed through underwater glass panels. Desert birds can be seen in an aviary. Large mammals include mountain lions, bighorn sheep, and more than 300 other species. The Life Underground exhibit tells the story of the hidden dwellers of the desert.
