Simply put, Bern's Steak House is a place of superlatives, including quality. Bern's is widely considered the best place for steak in Florida. Long ago it was an original entry into business monthly Florida Trend's "hall of fame" for best restaurants. Diners order their aged prime cuts by thickness and weight, but Bern's also offers 21 kinds of caviar, organically grown veggies from its own farm, fish from its saltwater tanks, and a wine cellar of more than 6,500 labels, many available by the glass. Yet before first-time customers have glanced at the menu or hefted the wine list, they are likely to remark on the décor, from flamboyant to decadent, of the eight dining rooms, which have themes including "Burgundy" and "Irish Rebellion." The upstairs dessert room—50 booths that each has a TV monitor showing the pianist—has several dozen food items and 1,000+ after-dinner drinks. Open for dinner only.
