Bunker Hill Monument

Description

The final stop on Boston's great Freedom Trail, the Bunker Hill Monument commemorates the famous Revolutionary War battle that took place on June 17, 1775. Popularly known as the "Battle of Bunker Hill," most of the fighting actually took place on Breed's Hill, where a 221-foot granite obelisk and statue mark the site. A 294-step climb to the top of the hill allows you to retrace the steps of the advancing British army; the site is also handicapped-accessible.
