Calcasieu Lake (Big Lake)

Description

Lake Calcasieu is known locally as Big Lake. The marina at Hebert’s Landing is the primary access point along the east shore for fishing and hunting on the lake. Here you will find professional guides and vacation rentals, but be sure to stock up on your food, bait and other outdoor supplies on your way as these items are currently not available at the lake. Fishing in this large, but shallow, lake is excellent, particularly for trophy-sized speckled trout, some weighing more than 11 pounds. Redfish, black drum and flounder can also be caught in good numbers.
