Cave-In-Rock State Park

Located on the Ohio River in the Shawnee National Forest, this park takes its name from a large natural cave used as a hiding place by pirates who preyed on river travelers until early in the 19th century. The park features four duplex guest houses, electric and primitive campsites, a restaurant, concessions, drinking water, two boat ramps, fishing, hiking, and picnicking. Sites are first-come, first-served. Private wave runners and jet skis are permitted on the river. No horses are allowed. Pets: Leashed pets are permitted in park and campsites.
