Charles H. MacNider Art Museum

Description

The Charles H. MacNider Art Museum displays works by American artists Thomas Hart Benton and Arthur Dove, plus puppets created by Mason City native and world-famous puppet master Bill Baird. He designed 3,000 puppets, some appearing on television with Orson Welles and Walter Cronkite. Baird's "Goat Herd" marionette was in The Sound of Music.
