Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum

From the days of the earliest boat-building English colonies to today, Chesapeake Bay has been the central influence of this region. Its nautical history is recounted at the Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum in 10 separate exhibit buildings. Eighteen acres of waterfront property house this impressive museum, which includes a fully restored 1879 lighthouse, a working boat shop, and the nation's largest collection of Chesapeake Bay water craft. Spend a couple of hours browsing the museum. Also be sure to check out special events offered more than 20 times a year. The Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum is open in the summer from 10 AM to 6 PM; in the spring and fall from 10 AM to 5 PM; and in the winter from 10 AM to 4 PM. Admission is $13 for adults, $10 for seniors over 62, and $6 for children 6-17. Call 410-745-2916 for more details and information on special events.
