Clearwater Beach

Description

This popular vacation area is located on a barrier island just west of Clearwater. The beach along the Gulf of Mexico is three miles long and made of fine white sand. Visitors come to swim, sunbathe, beachcomb, play volleyball, and fish; major tourist seasons are November through April and June through August. Summer temperatures average around 90; a tropical breeze keeps the air pleasant. Parts of the beach have lifeguards. Amenities include restrooms, outdoor showers, and food stands.
