Description

Cleveland Metroparks, a three-time National Gold Medal Award winner as America's Most Outstanding Park System, is known as Cleveland’s “Emerald Necklace,” an open space of natural beauty and diversity. The Park District consists of over 21,000 acres of parkland in 16 reservations, six nature and visitor centers, eight golf courses, the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, and hundreds of miles of trails and parkways.

Seven of the Cleveland Metroparks reservations as well as Cleveland Metroparks Zoo fall within the Cuyahoga County Section of the Ohio & Erie Canalway. You’ll find them all here - including the Ohio & Erie Canal and Bedford reservations: http://www.clemetparks.com/recreation/hiking/index.asp.

Cleveland Metroparks is dedicated to conservation, education and recreation. It offers a wide array of facilities and opportunities from picnicking, golfing and fishing to water and winter recreation areas, wildlife areas, and outdoor education and recreation programs.
