Colchester Museum

The Colchester Castle Museum takes you back 2,000 years in British history. It was constructed on the foundations of the Roman Temple of Claudius, which are suntill visible today. It was the site of the invasion by the Normans and the siege during the English Civil War. The Castle has served as a ruin, a library, and is now an award-winning museum with exhibitions throughout the year.
