Connecticut River Museum

Description

In an 1878 steamboat warehouse that’s just steps from the historic village of Essex, paintings, artifacts, models, and documents showcase life and industry along the river. Before or after your visit, book a sail aboard the Mary E, a 75-foot schooner built in 1906. There are several guided and self-guided museum tours, some of which include a sail, a walk through town, or lunch at the historic (and not to be missed) Griswold Inn.
