Creamer's Field

Description

Creamer's was the largest and most prosperous dairy in Alaska from 1928 to 1966. The dairy's grain and wide open fields became an ideal habitat for migratory waterfowl and when the property went up for sale in 1966, the community and government split the price to create a refuge. Now Creamer's Field Migratory Waterfowl Refuge, local volunteers provide year-round educational programs, guided walking tours in the summer, and a Farmhouse Visitor Center.
