Dr. Meeks Cabin & Pioneer Farmstead

Description

As the first doctor to southern Utah, Dr. Priddy Meeks came to Parowan in May of 1851 and later built his home and office outside the fort around 1857. In 1861, he and his family moved to help settle other communities before permanently settling in Orderville along Heritage Hwy. 89. As the last remaining pioneer farmstead in Parowan, the Parowan Heritage Foundation and Parowan City purchased the property and restored the cabin, barn and outbuildings. Historical tours of the cabin can be made by appointment.
