Fat Mama's Tamales

As its name suggests, the focus at this small log cabin–style restaurant is tamales: served by the dozen (or half dozen) and handmade according to a recipe well-honed over time. You can also get taco soup, chili, boudin sausage, and po-boy sandwiches. Be sure to try the famous fire-and-ice pickles (spicy but served cold) or the Knock You Naked margaritas. If you like the latter, pick up some margarita mix on the way out.
