Flying Mango

Two foodies created a smokin’ catering business in 1997 that became a brick-and-mortar dinner restaurant a few years later. The duo specializes in bold barbecue flavors, such as those from the Caribbean, and other dishes—all made using the freshest ingredients. Among the barbecue offerings are beef brisket (cooked for 24 hours) and the so-called pick-three platter. There’s catfish, too, and shrimp—the mango or lime-and-garlic shrimp dishes are particularly noteworthy. So are the pancakes with mango sour cream, the “grits of the day,” the custom-blended coffees, and the selection of Port wines
