Fort Crawford Museum

Description

Prairie du Chien's Fort Crawford Museum stands in the place of what once guarded this Wisconsin territory during the Black Hawk War. Within its walls are exhibits of its military past as well as a showcase of key tools used in frontier medicine. Learn about the Black Hawk War and its participants on a quick, self-guided tour, or watch a live demonstration of 19th century cannon firing. The museum is open from May to October, with special off-season events in winter.
