Germantown Colony & Museum

Description

Located northeast of Minden, the Germantown Colony, founded in 1835 by German settlers, was one of three sites established in the U.S. by the Utopian Movement of the Harmonist Society. The communal site lasted until 1871, and early settlers are buried in the hilltop cemetery.
