Grand Village of the Natchez Indians

Natchez is a gumbo of many cultures. Native Americans were the first to inhabit the region, and the Natchez Indian chiefdom gave the city its name. This National Historic Landmark just southeast of downtown, has three burial mounds, a ceremonial plaza, and a re-created Natchez Indian dwelling.
