Hacienda de los Martinez

Built in the years 1804-1827, the fort-like casa mayor (great house) of Antonio Severino Martinez -- farmer, rancher, trader, merchant, and Taos mayor -- has been restored to reflect life in Spanish Colonial New Mexico. Seeing the foods and spices arranged on the kitchen table, or the saddles, hides, and sombreros displayed in the trade room, visitors feel as if Antonio and his family are still present and going about their daily routines.
