Hay House

Description

Scores of historic houses cluster downtown, including the 18,000-square-foot Hay House, known as the "Palace of the South." The Italian Renaissance Revival mansion was built in the mid-1850s. Original plantings of gingko, cedar, and magnolia still dot the grounds.
