Historic Occidental Hotel

Description

The Occidental Hotel combines true history with the romantic fiction of the Old West. A center of social and political life, the hotel also figured prominently in Owen Wister's highly influential 1902 novel, "The Virginian." Perhaps more than any other, this book helped define the era of gunslingers, good guys, and the "code of the west." The beautifully restored hotel also hosts a museum.
