Hocking Valley Scenic Railway

Description

The collection of rolling stock amassed and restored by this volunteer-run nonprofit railway is inspired: commuter coaches from the 1920s; a B&O passenger coach from the 1940s; bi-level Pullman cars from the1960s; and locomotives, cabooses, and other utility cars from all periods. On weekends from late May through late October, you can ride in one of the passenger cars pulled by a 1952 diesel engine along track that once belonged to the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway.

Round-trips between Nelsonville and either Haydenville or Logan (just under and just over 2 hours, respectively) include a stop in Robbins Crossing, a recreated pioneer village. There’s also a variety of themed, seasonal, and holiday trips throughout the year.
