Holualoa Kona Coffee Company

The miller shows visitors the grading and roasting of coffee at this coffee company. He says it is the handpicking of the beans that helps make Kona coffee special. "Sweet, ripe flesh influences the beans. When you handpick you only get the ripe beans." He'll even take visitors to see the pulping machine and where the beans are hand-raked and drying on a rooftop. After the tour, visitors can sample the coffee of the day in the small retail shop. Coffee runs about $32 a pound.
