Hueco Tanks State Historical Park

Description

Huecos are natural rainwater basins in the desert that have been used for 10,000 years by Native Americans and pioneers. As a result, more than 5,000 pictographs made by ancient peoples can be found in the 860-acre park. Ruins of a 19th-century stagecoach station and an abandoned ranch are also part of the area's history. Location: 30 mi E of El Paso on US 180/62 and then 8 mi N on FM 2775.
