Jailer's Inn Bed & Breakfast

History is palpable at this unique bed-and-breakfast in the former Nelson County Jail (circa 1819). Despite the iron bars on the windows, 20-inch-thick walls, and heavy steel doors, the 6 guest rooms are homey, and each has a period theme, with antiques, wallpaper, and upholstery to match. A full breakfast is included in the rates. For a contrasting look at life behind bars (and, perhaps, an encounter with one of the more ethereal former prisoners who reportedly linger here) visit the preserved 1874 jail at the back of the inn.
