Lighthouse County Park

In 1847, President Polk ordered the Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse be built to protect ships from treacherous shoals. When operational, the lighthouse helped sailing ships avoid doom when entering Saginaw Bay. Today the lighthouse is a museum on the grounds of the Lighthouse County Park. Six guest cabins for rent overlook the lighthouse.
