Lincoln's New Salem State Historic Site

Description

This historic village of Abraham Lincoln's early adulthood recreates the life and times of the future president in the 1830s. Twelve log houses, a tavern, ten workshops, stores, mills, and a school have been reconstructed. Special events, craft demonstrations, and theater hosted. Admission free; self-guided tours. Campground on-site.
