Description
If you enjoy hiking and wildlife watching, Many Glacier is an excellent place to see bighorn sheep, mountain goats, moose, black-tailed deer, and perhaps a wolf, bear, or coyote. The Swiftcurrent Lake Nature Trail is a three-mile trek around Swiftcurrent Lake that begins at the Many Glacier Hotel. The trail takes you through forests of spruce and pine. At Josephine Lake, you can explore old-growth forests; starting around July, when the trail becomes passable, a naturalist leads an 11-mile round-trip hike to Grinnell Glacier.
