Meeman-Shelby State Park

Description

This 13,476-acre hardwood bottomland area borders the mighty Mississippi River and features a mature bald cypress and Tupelo swamp. Among the many facilities, most atop the majestic Chickasaw Bluffs, are two six-room cabins along Popular Tree Lake and 40 campsites complete with water and electrical hookups, plus tables and grills. The wooded, 36-hole, disc-golf course is considered the most beautiful in the Southeast. Other activities include guided hikes, live raptor and reptile programs, and deep-swamp canoe trips or pontoon-boat excursions.
