My Old Kentucky Home State Park

Description

Stephen Foster’s song was inspired by Federal Hill, the Georgian-style home that belonged to his cousin, Judge John Rowan, and that Foster visited in 1852. The restored site includes Judge Rowan’s law office, a carriage house, a barn, and gardens. Guided tours by docents in period costume take place throughout the year. The park is also home to a 39-site campground facility, a picnic area, a visitors center, and a gift shop.
