New England Aquarium

Description

Penguins, though not native to Boston, take pride of place here, but they are only a fraction of the aquarium’s thousands of examples of marine life. Many different environments are re-created such as an Amazon rainforest, a coral reef, coastal Maine, and a harbor seal habitat.

If you want to see whales—right whales, humpbacks, pilot whales—and dolphins, take Boston Harbor Cruises’ New England Aquarium Whale Watch (1 Long Wharf, 617/227-4321, www.bostonharborcruises.com/whale-watch), which is a three-hour tour offered in conjunction with the Aquarium.
