North Market

Description

More than 30 regional farms, orchards, and greenhouses supply this public market, open since 1876. Vendors also sell cookware and a variety of ethnic cuisines. Be sure to try some of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams. Founded locally in 2002, Jeni’s now has scoop shops in several states, and Jeni Britton Bauer’s book, Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams At Home, won a James Beard Foundation Award. Prefer a savory snack? Check out Pam’s Market Popcorn, with flavors both mild (cheese or caramel) and wild (Painful Purgatory Pepper).
