Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse

Although it was decommissioned in the 1950s, this 1889 lighthouse helped many a ship to safely sail the Straits of Mackinac. You can climb it and take in the Great Lakes views on one of the many daily tower tours. You can also visit several restored outbuildings, where displays examine the area's maritime history, the lives of lighthouse keepers, and the workings of the original Fresnel lens.
