Pointe Aux Barques Lighthouse

Swinging all the way east around Saginaw Bay, you'll find Point Aux Barques, or "Point of the Little Boats," on the very tip of the Michigan thumb. The Point Aux Barques Lighthouse, built in 1857, still warns shipping of the dangerous waters at the entrance to the bay. The museum in the keeper's cottage is open daily 10 AM to 8 PM from Memorial Day weekend to the last weekend in September.
