Rocky Knob/Rock Castle Gorge

Description

In 1978, one of the BRP’s older gas stations (circa 1948) was converted into the seasonal, weekend-only Rocky Knob Visitor Center, operated by the National Park Service. It’s a great place to get information on Rock Castle Gorge, one of the parkway’s most floral-rich sections with an extensive trail system. If you’d like to stay the night, there are tent and RV sites (book through ReserveAmerica) available from early May to late October.
