Savannah History Museum

Housed in a converted railway station in Tricentennial Park, this museum offers a great introduction to the city’s rich legacy. Exhibits highlight English settlement in 1733, the 1779 Siege of Savannah, the Civil War, the Industrial Revolution, and Savannah’s music and arts scene. Across the street, Battlefield Memorial Park honors those who fought in the American Revolution’s second-bloodiest battle.

The site is also home to the Georgia State Railroad Museum and the Savannah Children’s Museum (912/651-4292). Discounted combo tickets are available. The neighboring City of Savannah visitors center has maps and other information.
