Silver City Museum

History here starts with the building itself—a stately, brick, Italianate (circa 1881) that has served as a private residence, a boarding house, and a civic structure. The museum’s photography collection has more than 20,000 images, including those from the late 18th and early 19th centuries. Themed changing exhibits incorporate this photography as well as items from the vast collection of ranching and mining implements; housewares, furnishings, and personal items of both Anglo and Hispanic settlers; and Native American art and artifacts.
