Silver Dollar City
Folksy, 1880s-themed Silver Dollar City, situated 5 miles west of Branson off Highway 76, emphasizes Ozark crafts and culture. The entertainment complex has more than 40 thrill and kiddy rides; historic structures like a 19th-century homestead, school, and church; and a colony of 100 resident artisans. Showcased crafts include woodcarving, glass-blowing, pottery making, blade smithing, and basket weaving. You can also try your hand at preparing traditional Midwestern dishes in daily 60-minute classes at the Midwest Living Culinary & Crafts School.
Affiliated with Silver Dollar City are the White Water Park, with its watery rides and slides; the nearby Wilderness RV Park, which has a free shuttle to and from the theme parks; and the 278-foot Branson Belle paddle-wheeler. Two-hour, three-course lunch and dinner cruises come with spectacular views of Table Rock Lake from the showboat’s three decks and entertainment from the best of Branson’s singers and dancers. The ship sails from the boardwalk at White River Landing, just south of Branson, where several shops sell clothing, accessories, gourmet items, and souvenirs.
