Spruce Woods Provincial Park


This park comprises widely-varied terrains, including spruce forest, aspen parkland, mixed grass prairie, open sand dunes with pincushion and prickly pear cacti, and the Devil's Punch Bowl, a sinkhole formed by the actions of underground springs. You can take a covered wagon ride through the Spirit Sands and participate in the interpretive programs that explain the natural wonders of the region. Camping, hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding are popular here. Backcountry camping is available. The park offers top cross-country ski trails, snowmobiling, skating/hockey rinks, and groomed cross-country/snowshoeing trails in winter. The park is located 160 km west on Hwy 1 from Winnipeg, then south 20 km on PTH 5.Reservations:Manitoba has a central reservation telephone number for its provincial park campgrounds: 888-482-2267.
