St. Helena III Canal Boat Rides / Canal Fulton Canalway Center

Description

Operated by the City of Canal Fulton and the Canal Fulton Heritage Society, the St. Helena III Canal Boat rides offer the chance to ride a replica cargo canal boat pulled by two Percheron horses on the original Ohio & Erie Canal. The boat travels past the renovated McLaughlin Dry Dock and Lock 4, alongside the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail. On-board tour guides take you through life on the original canal - part of an inland waterway that changed our world. The Canal Fulton Canalway Center is a staffed center that promotes the cultural, historic and recreational assets of Canal Fulton and the Ohio & Erie Canalway. Information is available on area activities, businesses and local events. Visitors also are invited to view a DVD history of the canal and an interpretive panel display. You can purchase canal boat tickets here - late Spring through early Autumn - or get out and stretch your legs along the Towpath Trail.
