Story Inn

Description

This hostelry is inside a restored, 1850s general store, complete with well-worn hardwood floors and pressed-tin ceilings. The setting is impressive, too: to reach it, you’ll wind along the eastern edge of Brown County State Park. The restaurant is chockablock with antiques and bric-a-brac; is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner; and serves Hoosier-style dishes made with ingredients sourced from the onsite garden or area farms.

You can stay in cottages or one of the guest rooms above the restaurant. Accommodations are pet-, horse- (there’s a barn), and ghost-friendly (ask about the mysterious Blue Lady).
