Thankful Arnold House

It was a tradition in early New England for the often-devout colonizers to name their children for virtuous qualities like Chastity, Patience, Prudence, or Temperance. That’s no doubt how Thankful Arnold (née Clark) got her unusual name. On the cellar-to-attic tours of this restored and furnished home, you’ll learn about life in the late 18th and early 19th centuries as well as about the lives of Thankful, her husband, and their 12 children. Ask about the mysterious finds uncovered during restoration work.
