The Simpson House Inn

Impeccable lawns and hedges and English-style gardens surround the fully restored and remodeled Victorian main house (c. 1874) and barn/carriage house (c. 1878) with 10 rooms or suites. The estate, which is secluded yet just steps from downtown, also has several cottages. All guest quarters are uniquely decorated with plump throw pillows and chairs and/or couches; Asian rugs; and a mix of antique and reproduction wooden furnishings. Some rooms have clawfoot tubs, fireplaces, and/or porches. (Note that others have bathrooms with showers only, no tubs).

Service is a hallmark here; don’t hesitate to ask the concierge for recommendations or help making reservations or arrangements for winery tours and other activities. Breakfast, evening hors d’oeuvres, and other refreshments are included in the rates as is the use of bicycles and beach equipment.
