The Tech Museum of Innovation

All that innovation going on around you is truly palpable at this unique museum, where immersive, often hands-on exhibits show how technology affects the way we live, work, play, and create. Permanent galleries---here called “museum experiences”---showcase innovations made locally and elsewhere in fields like robotics, health and biotech, energy, earth sciences, and space technology.

Recent changing exhibits included one focusing on Star Wars, with props, costumes, and other items from all the movies as well as displays on how some sci-fi technology could become reality. The Hackworth IMAX Dome Theater shows several educational movies daily. There’s also an on-site cafe and gift shop packed with "only in Silicon Valley" items.

As several Tech Museum displays highlight technology’s influence on art, consider visiting both it and the nearby and very contemporary San Jose Museum of Art
