The Wickwood Inn

Description

Knotty caramel-colored woods, colorful checked fabrics, bits of lace or embroidery, touches of silk, vases of fresh flowers, the smell of something wonderful baking in the oven . . . these are among the reasons why this white, 11-guest-room, Colonial-style inn (circa 1930s) is so comfortable and romantic. That list should also include a spa offering select massages and facials and the food served at the champagne brunches and candlelit evening wine and hors d’oeuvres gatherings---both included in the rates. It’s no surprise that one of the owners is a renowned cookbook author.

The setting amid the artsy town of Saugatuck, along the Kalamazoo River and Lake Michigan, means that there are plenty of things to do---from river and lake cruising to strolls along the boardwalk to shopping, dining, and gallery hopping.
